Job Title: Cleaner - Mental Health Unit Weekends
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Working Hours: 9.5 hours per day, with a one-hour break
Start Time: 7:30 am
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our Mental Health Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the unit, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitising surfaces in patient rooms, common areas, offices, and other designated areas within the Mental Health Unit
- Empty and dispose of waste and recycling materials in accordance with established procedures
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and replenish supplies as needed
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are well-stocked and readily available
- Adhere to infection control protocols and guidelines to prevent the spread of diseases and infections
- Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with the rest of the cleaning team to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations in a mental health setting
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar cleaning role is preferred
- Enhanced DBS clearance is mandatory due to the nature of the mental health unit
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of cleanliness
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks within designated time frames
- Understanding and empathy towards individuals with mental health conditions
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to changing schedules
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects when necessary
