HRGO are seeking a Freight Clerk, for our Client based in the Dover area. The role is working in freight forwarding and customs clearance. Good analytical and excellent organisational skills are essential, and must be able to work in a methodical manner and respond effectively to enquiries. This role will suit candidates that have some experience in transport and/or customs clearance.
Duties will include:
Calculating Duty / VAT cost for each consignment
Processing Import/Export declarations
Dealing with general enquiries from importers / exporters concerning all areas, relating to Customs Procedures, Tariff Classifications, Duty Rates, and any other documentation requirements
Keeping up to date with changes in regulations, laws and customs procedures
Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for shipments
Obtaining, checking and preparing documentation
Meet customs and insurance requirements and packing specifications
Compliance with other countries' regulations
Maintaining communication and control through all phases of the journey
Build excellent relationships with clients
Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and deal with enquiries quickly
Handling 3rd party loads.
Hours - Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm.
