About the client:
My client is working in FMCG area across global markets. We are recruiting to the business centre located in Wrocław. 

Location: Wroclaw
Working mode: Hybrid (2/3 days a week from the office)


About the Role:

The Group Cost Controller plays a central finance-focused role in managing, optimizing, and controlling SG&A costs, with a particular focus on cost savings, budgeting, and capital expenditure (CapEx) management. This position requires a hands-on approach to budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial closures, with an emphasis on improving processes, especially for IT and other group functions. The role partners closely with senior stakeholders, including the CIO and other functional leaders, to develop and standardize efficient cost management practices, promote budget discipline, and implement cost-saving measures. As a finance business partner, the Group Cost Controller is also instrumental in building an optimized budgeting framework that aligns group functions under consistent and transparent financial processes.

Key Objectives

  • SG&A Cost Control and Cost Savings

    • Drive and oversee SG&A cost management, ensuring expenses are closely monitored and controlled to align with company financial objectives.
    • Develop and implement initiatives that identify and promote cost-saving opportunities across group functions, providing actionable proposals to reduce unnecessary spending and improve efficiency.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analysis

    • Lead the budgeting, monthly forecasting, and closure processes for IT and other group functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
    • Conduct thorough variance analyses and identify trends to support management decisions.
    • Streamline the budgeting process across the group, focusing on simplifying reporting structures, standardizing templates, and enhancing overall process efficiency to meet the group's needs.
  • Process Optimization and Stakeholder Engagement

    • Assess and improve existing budgeting and financial processes, especially in IT and other group functions, establishing standardized approaches for cost control, financial reporting, and budget management.
    • Act as a finance business partner to senior leaders, including the CIO, CFO, CHRO, and other functional heads, supporting them in budget alignment and cost management.
    • Participate in ad hoc financial projects, offering insights and guidance on cost control strategies as needed.

Requirements

  • Education and Certifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field.
    • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA) is highly preferred.
  • Experience

    • Previous experience in financial management, primarily in cost control, budgeting, and forecasting within a multi-entity or group structure.
    • Extensive experience with financial analysis and variance reporting, with demonstrated capability in CapEx management and SG&A cost control.
    • Prior experience standardizing and optimizing financial processes, ideally within an organization with a focus on IT or group-level functions.
  • Technical and Core Skills

    • Advanced skills in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting, with strong proficiency in SAP and Excel.
    • Effective project management skills, with experience in leading financial process improvements and standardization efforts.
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a strategic mindset to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
