- Salary Guide: £37,500 - £41,600 pa + site allowances & travel expenses
- When working away at a customer's location - Daily Site allowances & Travel Expenses.
Overview:
We are currently seeking a versatile and skilled professional to join our team in the role of Mechanical Fitter / Site Fitter.
This position is well-suited for an individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform tasks both in a workshop setting and on client sites. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of special purpose machinery / conveyor systems.
Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Assembly: - Assemble and fit various mechanical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- On-Site Work: - Undertake on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs as required by client needs.
- Collaboration: - Work closely with the engineering team to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Technical Expertise: - Utilise mechanical skills such as marking out, drilling, tapping, cutting, and fitting of motors, gearboxes, bearings, pipe work (Copper & UPVC), and drive shafts.
- Pneumatics: - Read and work with pneumatic diagrams for the assembly and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Machine Alignment: - Ensure machines are squared and levelled for accurate and precise operation.
Requirements:
- Experience: - Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter with expertise in assembly, installation, and maintenance of special purpose machinery / conveyor systems.
- Skills: - Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings. Familiarity with working on-site and understanding client-specific requirements.
- Technical Competence: - Competent in typical mechanical skills, including marking out, drilling, tapping, cutting, etc. Experience in fitting motors, gearboxes, bearings, pipe work (Copper & UPVC), and drive shafts.
- Pneumatics Knowledge: - Experience working with and reading pneumatic diagrams.
- Qualifications: - Recognised time-served apprenticeship in a relevant mechanical field.
- Post school vocational qualification in mechanical related topic/s such as C&G / BTEC etc
Hours:
Monday to Thursday 7am - 4pm & Friday 7am - 2pm - 40 hours per week
