Orbital TIG Welder / Fitter

Location: Bishops Stortford, Essex/Herts Border

Rate Guide: £18.00 - £20.00 p/hour

Permanent, Immediate Start.

Day Shift: 40 hours, Monday to Friday - No weekends

Orbital TIG Welder / Fitter is required by established special purpose machinery engineering company who design and build high-quality critical automatic processing systems, specialising in hygienic and sterile mechanical, welding and process engineering and automation solutions for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and research sectors.

You will be responsible for welding and fitting sub-assemblies and pressure equipment using various techniques on high-integrity pressure equipment.

As an Orbital TIG Welder / Fitter, you will be for performing welding and fitting tasks according to industry standards and client specifications, working with stainless steel and other materials to fabricate and assemble components for bio-waste decontamination and sanitary skids.

You must be proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and capable of working independently and be comfortable working in a busy workshop environment. Ideally, you will have experience in high-quality welding within the dairy, food or pharmaceutical or process machinery industry.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Performing welding tasks on pressure vessels to ASME BPE, PD550 codes.
• Setting and operating Orbital TIG Welding equipment
• Pipework, Purging
• Mechanical Assembly
• Some manual TIG welding
