We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Technician to join a Quality Assurance team for our well-established client who is commitment to excellence & a leading manufacturer in based in Sandwich, Kent.
As a quality technician you will be responsible for testing materials, components or finished products to ensure they conform to applicable standards & procedures. You will assist and support the inspection team and quality engineers through the assembly, inspection and testing across three stages of manufacturing (before, in-process and final)
Other areas of focus for the role include calibration of measuring equipment, supporting the first article Inspection process,
Due to the nature of the work all candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance.
Main duties & responsibilities:
Investigate quality issues and identify route causes as well as contributing to the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct product and process auditing.
Support quality control activities such as part inspection, fault identification and stock sorting.
Support the introduction of new products into organisation including NPI gate reviews and associated quality team actions.
Support the introduction, management and release of NPI stock including rejected items.
Facilitate Continuous improvement (CI), New product introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change Request (ECR) Activities.
Monitor calibration system & ensure equipment is continually calibrated to schedule.
Support supplier quality engineers during busy periods or times of absence.
Qualifications and Skills:
NVQ/HNC/HND in engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
ISO 9001 or AS9100 Internal auditor
Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use required equipment to confirm inaccuracies.
Ability to self-inspect parts using manual measuring equipment, mircometers, verniers, calipers, gauges etc
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address quality issues in a timely manner.
Valid driving license.
Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Positive attitude and a strong focus on teamwork.
