Our client is a leading global manufacturer within the automotive industry. They are looking for a Senior Strategic Buyer to join their growing procurement team. In this critical role to the team, you will play a vital part in driving cost savings, mitigating risks, and ensuring the successful procurement of essential materials and services for our global operations.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Strategic Buyer, you will develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for a diverse range of manufacturing commodities and services.
Conduct market research, identify qualified suppliers, and negotiate competitive contracts.
Manage and foster strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery.
Lead cross-functional teams to optimise procurement processes and drive continuous improvement.
Analyse market trends and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve sourcing strategies.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
What you bring:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Senior Strategic Procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of success in developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives.
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with the internal Management team as well as external stakeholders.
Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices and a strong understanding of international trade regulations.
Experience using procurement software and tools is a plus.
