Position Overview:

  • Job Title: Support Worker
  • Workplace: Taunton
  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (3 x 12.5 hour shifts), with some unsociable hours, including some weekends.
  • Travel: Possible travel and due to the location you will need to have access to your own transport

About the Role:

As a Support Worker, you will assist in delivering a stable and effective care program while maintaining the highest standards of support for their clients who are people with convictions. You will play a crucial role in helping their clients achieve their care/support goals and ensuring their well-being in a secure and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Provide a range of personal care services, such as bathing, grooming, and assistance with mobility.
  • Client Support: Act as a Support Worker for designated clients, implementing and monitoring individualised care plans.
  • Risk Management: Take an active role in assessing and managing risks to clients and maintaining a safe environment for all.
  • Medication Management: Ensure proper handling and administration of medication in accordance with trust policies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside other support workers, providing guidance and assistance as needed while promoting client engagement.
  • Client Meetings: Facilitate meetings to ensure clients have a voice and feel empowered in their care.

What We're Looking For:

  • A practising and professing Christian who embodies the values of the trust
  • Commitment to acquiring a relevant qualification, such as QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged groups or individuals, ideally in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage confidential matters discreetly.
  • A flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
