Hours: Monday - Friday
Location: Home-Based with Travel Across the UK (Occasional travel to Ireland)

About the Role:
HRGO Recruitment is excited to be recruiting for a leading Plastic Packaging firm, specialising in Flexible Packaging. We are looking for a Technical Service Representative to provide packaging technology expertise and leadership, ensuring our client meets their supply and commercial objectives. This is a field support role that involves significant travel within the UK.

Purpose of Technical Service Representative:

This role is an essential part of the Technical team. Our client thrives on collaboration with customers and suppliers, and therefore this role is pivotal to ensure that supply and demand are uninterrupted. The role's primary focus is to provide packaging expertise and knowledge to production sites to drive improvements via materials, equipment and processes to ensure optimal NPD developments. This position will require strong external relationships with Customers, Suppliers and Strategic Development Partners, as well as strong internal relationships with the Technical and Product Development Manager, Head of UK Sales, Sales Managers (Internal/External). Quality Managers and Operations Teams. Clear and strong communication is absolutely essential for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve quality issues and reduce customer complaints.
  • Lead projects on problem resolution, technical transfers, and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance New Product Development (NPD).
  • Support commercial teams in packaging challenges.
  • Provide guidance for improvements in production materials, equipment, and processes.
  • Writing high quality specifications, BOM's, trial requirements etc.
  • Working with the Quality functions across the sites to reduce customer complaints and positively impact on our quality performance
  • Identifying cost saving opportunities for the business and undertake cost-engineering exercises
  • Recognise opportunities in applying new technologies, innovation, materials, and processes to deliver competitive benefits that create new sales opportunities.
  • The investigation, data analysis, hypotheses proposal, test generation and trials required to help improve and solve quality/supply problems.

Essential Experience:

  • In-depth understanding of flexible packaging technologies and processes.
  • Experience in quality management systems and manufacturing excellence techniques.
  • Experience in troubleshooting packaging-related issues.

Desired Experience:

  • Membership in a professional organisation (e.g., Institute of Packaging).
  • Engineering background
  • Degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively on time and within budget.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop actionable solutions.
  • Clear communication and influence with team members, suppliers, and customers.
