Transport Planner

Location: Aylesham, Kent

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 P/A DOE

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30 plus every other Saturday morning and be available for calls outside normal working hours

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Planner to join dynamic team. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for managing a team of 6 drivers for various transport routes running from the UK to Europe and back. You will play a crucial role in advising clients on any delays and providing effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage drivers for transport routes between the UK and Europe

- Advise clients on delays and provide solutions

- Work every other Saturday morning and be available for calls outside normal working hours

- IT savvy with excellent communication skills

- Provide excellent customer service

- Plan UK and European routes for a fleet of HGV vehicles in a cost-effective manner

- Daily communication with drivers for delivery updates

- Liaise with customers and other departments as necessary

- Maintain accurate timesheets and files

- Ensure PLDs are correct and sent to clients promptly

- Scan PODs and send to Customer.

Requirements:

- Recent experience in a similar role

- Proactive approach to work and ability to think on your feet

- Significant experience in transport planning

- Strong organisational skills

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

- Knowledge of UK and European transport regulations

- Proficient in using transport planning software
