HGV Driver
Department - Street Cleansing / Beaches - Promenades
Location: Margate
Hours of work: Rota 4 on 4 off 08:00 - 16:00
Pay: £15.03 per hour (*Enhanced rates on weekends & Bank Holidays)
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Driver to join the Street Cleansing / Beaches - Promenades team. The ideal candidate will have experience driving HGV vehicles and other vehicles as required, along with the ability to act as a Team Leader when operating within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive HGV vehicles and other vehicles as needed
- Act as Team Leader and be responsible for the work of team members
- Ensure all tasks and duties are completed to agreed standards daily
- Perform daily routine maintenance checks on vehicle and complete defect reports
- Ensure vehicle is left clean and tidy
- Empty Street & promenade bins, containers, collect sacks, and bulky items individually or with team members
- Operate vehicles in compliance with Health and Safety requirements and the law
- Hold a valid HGV Class 1 or Class C+E license, or Class 2 or Class C license
- Hold a valid CPC license
- Have knowledge of the Thanet area
- Operate vehicles and associated equipment with skill
- the ability to work outdoors in difficult weather conditions and be physically fit
- Work at least 2 weekends per month due to the 7-day operation
- Load and drive to deliver waste to the transfer station or specified site
Qualifications:
- Valid HGV Class 1 or Class C+E license, or Class 2 or Class C license
- Valid CPC license
