Position: Housing Officer
Salary: £16.30 per hour
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5pm
Role: temporary
As a Housing Officer working within an area-based housing team, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive estate and tenancy management service to tenants within a specific geographical area. Your role will involve enforcing tenancy agreements, supporting tenants in sustaining their tenancies, and working collaboratively with partners to create strong and vibrant communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit tenants in their homes on a daily basis
- Attend local meetings with partners and the public
- Assist tenants in sustaining their tenancies
- Improve communication with tenants and residents
- Contribute to creating safer neighborhoods by reducing anti-social behavior and crime
- Identify vulnerable individuals and safeguarding issues
- Complete vulnerable victim risk assessments and make safeguarding referrals as necessary
- Support referrals to relevant agencies to address vulnerability and safeguarding concerns
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Customer Care, Housing, or Administration (or equivalent) desirable
- Sound knowledge of housing management, particularly tenancy and estate management
- Basic understanding of legislation related to housing and tenancy management
- Full valid driver's license
- Ability to interact with customers with diverse needs and circumstances
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and be assertive in challenging situations
