Quality Engineers opportunity with this leading aerospace and defence precision engineering company

The role supports the Quality manager in maintaining AS 9100 system and uses a range of quality engineering techniques to monitor and improve the company products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and enhance current processes and procedures.
  • Communicate with customers regarding product quality issues.
  • Address customer concerns using root cause analysis and corrective action techniques (8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys, statistical data analysis).
  • Develop, update, and create PFMEAs for process validation.
  • Relay quality requirements to management and production teams.
  • Examine and resolve internal non-conformities.
  • Compile and present data for trend analysis and KPI reporting.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve product quality issues.
  • Perform supplier quality audits.
  • Assist with the FAIRs process for secondary approval.
  • Assess quality costs and identify opportunities for reduction.
  • Apply statistical analysis methods to monitor trends.
  • Gather information for bi-annual Management Review.
  • Oversee document control for internal, legislative, and customer information.
  • Enhance the Change Management system.
  • Implement 5S and Lean methodologies for operational excellence.
  • Support HSE initiatives for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and ensure compliance.

Key Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance and AS9100 QMS management.
  • Experience in investigating and mitigating non-conformances.
  • Proficiency in risk-based thinking and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and production processes, particularly CNC machining.
  • Ability to learn and implement Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Capability to train, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Proactive approach to Health & Safety.
  • Commitment to improving environmental impact.
